Happy Saturdays

Hello there!
So it looks like you survived the world end too?

I knew it wouldn't happen,
and it really annoyed me when every status on my news feed was all about it.
haha
Silly people.

As for me,
I enjoyed my 'world end' week to the max,
from last Saturday to yesterday.

Last Saturday night was spent clubbing at Dublin @ Park Sheraton Hotel,
also one of the best clubs around!
Yes, we've got early x'mas exclusive invites! :D
The club was awesome,
except that the music could've been better.
Did I also mention the price there was even more awesome?
(A plate of fries for RM50)

Outfit:
I absolutely love my new heels from Charles&Keith!
Top from Mango, skirt from Forever New, clutch from Mochi.

And here's a selfie.

Somewhere through the night,
the DJ just suddenly annouced
"To Sam and Poonam, happy married life!"

So, yeah. We got 'married'...

It was overall, an awesome night.
Partly because awesome friends were there :)

But I think I've had enough of clubbing for awhile!
It's really tiring!

 Aaaand,
yesterday was a day out to...
the beach!
Woohoooooo!
As usual, we went to our faaaaaaave beach @ Besant Nagar.

I have to say, it was a bad bad bad hair day :(

Can you see who's in the distance?
Absolutely love this pic.

I believe I have found my 'click' :)
Truly blessed to have them in my life!

Trust

Do you know what's one of the worst feelings in the world?
The feeling of not being trusted by the one you love.

The next worst feeling is not knowing why the one you love is mad at you.

And most of the time,
I have no one to blame but myself,
for letting people hurt me that way.

I always believe that no matter in what relationship,
be it family ties, friendship, love..
It survives on one simple basis:
TRUST

No trust, no relationship.

We always open our hearts too easily and let people have the power to hurt us.
It's a 'female species' thing.

I wish I didn't open my heart to something so impossible.
Reality is cruel.
And the reality is, we don't have a future.

So, why was I stupid enough to try to make it work?
Because I trusted and loved.

But then the opposite sex seems to have issues.
They don't appreciate what they have,
and they never put themselves in another's shoe to look beyond the situation.
Instead,
they make assumptions and let their ego and jealousy take over.

So,
what do we do?
Nothing.
Just keep calm and carry on.

Because those who truly loves you would never hurt you.

Don't feel sad over someone who gave up on you,
feel sorry for them because they gave up on someone who would never have given up on them.

Disney Inspired

In conjunction with Walt Disney's birthday,
which was actually on the 5th of December..

I present to you:
The Disney Inspired Fashion Show crew!

So for the past month or so,
I've been busy poking my nose around college cultural events.
Every year,
it ends with every batch presenting their own Fashion Show,
where they literally invite models,
&
they build a runway.

It's always the MOST ANTICIPATED event of the year!

So this year,
my batch decided to flauunt our styles based on a Disney character.
&
I was (proudly) MULAN :D

I've always thought that Disney fashion was very examplary
because it's so cute and the colours are really fun!

I think that night was the first time I felt like I had an inch of make up on,
alongside the bright red lipstick.

Yes, turquoise lenses!
Love 'em.

Special thanks to the lovely roomie,
who made all the awesome props for the show!

And to announce:
WE WON 2ND PLACING!
woohooo!
So proud!

And now,
for next year!

New Age, Ol' Times

HI BOO.

Yes, of all the pictures ;)
Because it reminds me of the good ol' times.
Did you bring froggie to the US?

I know this came a lil late,
but as usual,
I've been all busy bee.

Yes,
I'm very much willing to go through BM tuition all over again just to see your silly face.
and just randomly drop by your house which ends up with a sleepover.
I still can't forget your sleepy face.
And remember all the times you and Au argued over who gets to sit in the passenger sit in front while I drove?
Oh,
and all those morning calls where we all go like,
''Five.......minuuuuuttess.........''
''No, wake uuuuppp. NOW."
Hahahahah
and I would wake up real late and come an hour after the agreed time.

If I was rich,
I'd be more than happy to buy a flight ticket all the way from here to where you are,
just to bring you a lousy cake,
and we could have some green tea frapp at Starbucks.
Or even better,
I'd fly both of us back,
go to the Taiwan noodles at Ampang Point,
followed by the aimless trip to Popular,
then we'd go down....
and end up in Starbucks anyways.

Okay,
this is getting a lil emotional..
So,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOOBOO.

I know the time zone and the distance sucks.
But,
thank God for cellphones and internet.
:)

May all your dreams come true.
Don't worry 'bout all the matsalleh yang bijak2 belaka.
Because you're chinese,
and Asian.
HAHAHAHAHAHH

Til we meet.

LAFF YOUH BIG TYM.

Not A Book

Sometimes I really wonder why people can be so judgemental.
Yes,
judgemental people.

I can't say that I don't judge but,
I'm changing.

And kids nowadays should be less shallow-minded!

Casually scrolling down Facebook and I see a status 'bout doin' the last paper and then partying.
Someone commented:
''It's quite lame you can't bring alcohol to prom.''

Although it doesn't concern me,
I got quite irritated actually.
Who the hell said a party can only be cool with liquor involved?

Typical.
Kid goes to college thinks she's all cool and partying.
It's not set in stone that you have to drink to be cool or whatever.

I know that some of you may think that I'm contradicting myself,
since I did mention goin' clubbing in my previous post.

But let me clarify myself.

YES. I did go to a club.
But,
you don't have to drink.
YES. I drank one bottle of beer and that was it.
See, the thing is,
I never said clubbing was the cool thing to do.
In fact, I think it's quite wild.
I don't drink because it's deemed 'cool'.

I do it because I choose to.
Like,
it's my personal lifestyle preference..
you know?
I like that life, I think it's my way of chilling out and having fun.
The thrill and the music, it just drives me.
&
besides, my mom knows so..
I do it.
As long I know my limits,
and most importantly,
I've got my education under control as well.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before,
people who party are not all 'party animals'.
Seriously?
Oh you goody-two-shoes.
Good on ye', mate.

I'd rather to have done all the 'wrong' things in life,
than not have done it AT ALL.

Everyone has their on life,
and they live for themselves.
Live yours the way you think is right :)

Keep your judgementing glasses away..
Pause and think before you judge.

Reason for my disappearance

Yes, yes..
I know I've been MIA for a bit..
But I can explain!

The thing is,
I've been busy with college and everyone is either:
1. Feeding me with Diwali sweets
or
2. Inviting me to their wedding reception
Also,
We've been celebrating the Festival of Lights
(Though, it doesn't really concern my heritage)
&

The Wi-fi was down for more than a week.

I've never felt any more irritated!
It's so weird. Like, I don't know what to do without wifi.
And the technician took like what felt like centuries to come and fix the line.
Everyday I'd call him a gazillion times and it's always:
"Ah yes ma'am. Seri seri. For sure I'll tell the man to rectify today."

So!
To apologize,
here's a picture for you.

This was taken the night we went clubbin at Pasha on Diwali Eve :)
We got an exclusive invite to Pasha, one of the poshest club in the city
&
the place was awesome.
The best part is,
our friend who studies at the music school brought some people who were producers, actors and models.
Guess you could say our drinks were paid for and we girls had 2 bouncers to ourselves.
I'm not gonna start on the hot French guy...

And just 2 days back we attended the wedding reception of our Prosthodontics lecturer.
:D

And this is my new saree!
Picked it from Soch just the day before.
Clutch from Mochi.
What do you think?

I absolutely love it!
Because it looks North Indian, I honestly don't fancy South Indian sarees.
Also lovin' the embroidery on the material!
This saree is also really light! I actually thought it would be heavy!
Phew.
It's also a lil more mod,
as you can see the material is quite see-through...
A little pricey,
but totally worth the money!
Gotta thank my Dad :)

Ahhh,
feeling nostalgic tonight.
Currently missing my 3 lovelies.
You know who ya'll are.
When can we Skype/Google+ ?

My Latest Investment!

Hey guys!
This is a follow up on my post about how I do my make-up..

So yesterday
I went to Express Avenue here in Chennai to do some shopping for my upcoming Fashion Show in college.
&
I was at MAC to see if they have anything suitable.
I have to say I'm quite disappointed :(
Even the Lady Gaga series didn't impress me much.

Then,
I came across this cosmetic store that I've absolutely never heard of before.
It's called INGLOT.
(Right next to Charles&Keith)

Pretty sure they don't have a branch in Malaysia.

And I have to say,
INGLOT is my absolute favourite cosmetic store now because all their colours are superb!!!
The shop had a very sophisticated look
&
their Lipstick line is fantastic!
They had every colour on the colour chart!
Yes, blue purple white etc etc <3 p="p">

And all their products are 100% made in Germany

From INGLOT:
Soft Precision Eyeliner No.31
Like I said before,
these are fantastic in making your eyes appear bigger.

Falsies!!

Yeap this is the EXACT one I bought.
I told the lady that I wanted something that looked natural and at the same time a lil dramatic,
so she recommended this.
They had an entire wall dedicated to false lashes!!!
It was a lil pricey,
but I prefer not to be 'kedekut' on cosmetic products because it concerns the skin.

I got home and googled up INGLOT,
only to find out that their actually HUUUUGE.
& I was right,
they have no branches in Malaysia :(

Remember how I said that I didn't like to use the conventional mascaras because they get clumpy?
I found my next solution!

The Maybelline Colossal Volum Express (waterproof)
These are waterproof and clump-free!
Did I mention how LONG my eyelashes were after applying one coat??
This is 'Made In Italy'

New BB cream:
Maybelline ClearGlow in 02 Radiance
This one matches my skin tone and I bought it simply because my old BB cream is kinda finishing.
hehehe.

The Maybelline products mentioned can be bought at Guardian/Watsons..
I think.

So yeah!
These are my latest investment :D
Really happy and satisfied.

To add on to this,
my fashion show outfit is settled!
I couldn't be anymore relieved!

Happiness?

"It's almost incredible isn't it?
Things don't necessarily have to be in order in your life, but it's okay.
They're just good enough that you can still smile and laugh, and maybe, just maybe, even love.
It's knowing all the wrong things in your life but not focusing on them. It's pushing the drama behind you and pulling that smile out front. It's not a fake front and secretly being miserable inside. No.

It's dealing with all the crap in your life first, so you can enjoy being happy, really happy afterwards. You've got to cry to be able to appreciate a smile.

There's no easy path to happiness.
But when you reach itnot a million words can describe the feeling."

You know,
it's funny how one person can make you happy.
So happy.

That person can be so darn annoying but you don't care,
simply because,
they make you truly happy :)

Now,
I'm not talking bout the kind of happiness your parents or siblings or whoever gives you.
I'm talking 'bout that special happiness a special someone gives you.
&
for me,
true happiness is when that person shares my happiness too.

Frankly speaking,
I'm the last person on Earth right now to ever want a relationship.
In fact,
I've alsolutely chuck that idea out the window.
I'm done with it for now.

So, right now, happiness is quite subjective for me.
I can just chill out with that someone special on the weekends,
just watching Iron Man on TV,
or just sit around aimlessly with the iPod on shuffle,
or even just cuddle in bed and have deep conversations..
as long it gives me happiness.

See, who needs to have a boyfie or a girlfie to be happy.
Goddamn, you can even be in a relationship and NOT be happy.
&
I think I'm happier this way :)

You know what,
I even find happiness in sitting alone and singing along to my iPod.
*foreveralone*

However,
all this may be temporary.
I hope that someday I'd find my permanent happy pill.

We all have our ways of finding happiness.
I hope you find yours too :)

Hitting 19!

To one of the best person that has ever appeared in my life,

WELCOME TO 19 PRY!
:D
So how's it like being older?

I may not be there to bring you for movies or good food in Ampang,
but I do owe you one!

Another year!
Maybe all the happiest things in life come your way :)
You deserve all the best things in life!

Words can't describe how depressed I feel for not being there on your birthday.
I'm pretty sure my presence (& Leong's) would lighten the entire occasion by a bit.
HAHA

Okay,
You take care luv!
Love ya lots.

I'll see you soon

How I Do It?

So I just got a question from Anonymous,
asking how I do my make-up.
I'm quite surprised actually,
because I ain't exactly the most skilled person in this field..

But I'll see what I can do!
Here goes!

I just use BB cream for my foundation,
over that I use the
Guerlain Meteorites Perles in 02 Tient Beige

Guerlain is made in France and the mix of colours really brings out your features!
As you can see,
the packaging is also very attractive.
 (So is the price!)
But since mom got it for me, I had no complains ;)

Okay,
now with the lips.

Personally, I really like the lipgloss for my everyday college look.

For this I use
The Body Shop: Hi-Shine Lip Treatment in Coral Spice

I love this shade because it gives my lips a really nice pink.
I don't like going for the transparent ones because my lips aren't naturally rosy,
In fact, I think they're quite pale.

Lately, I've also purchased the Honey Bronze.

This one comes with a more nude tone :)

I buy my lipgloss from The Body Shop because:
1) It's available here in India (Thank God)
2) It's very much affordable.
3) Their lipgloss has a really nice fragrance!
It's like wearing lip perfume.

The only downside 'bout Body Shop is that not every shade is pretty. But luckily for me, I found what works best on me :)

However,
if I were to go out on a date, a girly day out, or even a fancy  dinner,
I'd opt for my MAC lipstick.

I absolutely love MAC's collection.
Particularly, the bubblegum pink ones.
But because I'm rather tan, that kind of pink makes me look quite awkward.
So I have my lipsticks in brighter pinks.
Actually, I'm thinking of investing on a bright red one ;)

Coming to my eyeliner,
I'm now using
  Lancome Le Crayon Khol
It's quite costly, but when it comes to eye products, I'm quite the fussy pot.
You gotta make sure you use good ones so that you don't ruin your eyes :)
Lancome has good eyeliners,
it goes on smoothly and for me, I love it really dark, and Lancome does just that!
I only use this one on my lower lash line,
smudging it as I go giving me the bigger-eyes effect :D

I also love winged eyeliners for the top..
So for that I use
Maybelline Eyestudio Gel Liner in Black

However, I don't usually do this look much because it gives me a very piercing, edgy and bold look.
& I'm more inclined to the softer look!

Paired with my winged liner,
I might sometimes use
Maybelline Eyestudio Vivid & Smooth Colour Liners

Absolutely love these because they come in all the prettiest shades to match my outfit!
(Very affordable too)
I use the white eyeliner on my lower waterline to open up my eyes.
Yes, I do emphasize alot on my eyes.

I was told that brown eyeliners are more natural,
so now I'm on a quest for a good one!

You're probably wondering what mascara I use..
I have naturally long eyelashes and I do like to give it volume.
But I really don't like the conventional ones because they somehow make your lashes all clumpy.
So lately, I've been using
The Body Shop: Brow and Lash Gel in Clear

Yes!
This mascara is totally transparent and yes, it does lengthen my eyelashes nicely without any clumps!
I was so thrilled when I found this!
You can also use this to give more shape to your eyebrows,
which is a great plus point for me!

And my absolute favourite
Naked 2 by Urban Decay!

I only use this on special occasions though,
because it has costed me more than a bomb.
Got this from Sephora some time ago,
and it gives the natural, nude look..
which I totally love.

And I think that's about it!
These are pretty much the products I use.
But nonetheless, I think it's achieved the looks I wanted.
I'm still trying on new looks like the Red lipstick and also, maybe falsies!
I don't believe in inches of make up,
just a touch of it to make you stand out is what I aim for.
and most importantly,
what's inside that makes you beautiful :)

Time to go shopping at Sephora!

The Change

I'm sure most of us have read the article that's been goin' around Facebook,
you know,
the one about Dr Richard Teo.

If you have no clue 'bout what I just mentioned,
then I guess you should really pay more attention to Facebook.
ahaha

Anyways,
I guess the article is mainly about life and changes.

So what I'm trying to say is:

People change based on 2 reasons:
They've learned alot
OR
They've been hurt too much

As life continues, and as you grow older,
change is inevitable.

I, as for one, have changed over the years.
Maybe you don't see it.
But I personally feel like I've become somewhat... different.
No?

Not too long back,
I used to be a girl who doesn't really give two hoots about her appearance.
I didn't really care about how my hair looks and I'd wear whatever.

Now,
I started investing on mascaras and eyeliners.
Even, lipgloss.
I just can't go anywhere without at least my eyeliner on.
Coz I just feel insecure without it, you know?
I did my eyebrows
&
I cut my hair and started learning how to curl it however I like.
You could say that I've also changed my way of dressing.
To put it in a nutshell,
I've become self-concious.

But to me,
that change isn't entirely bad coz I've come to realise that appearance is really important.
I hate to say this,
but people will always judge you based on your outlooks.
First impression, I'd say, plays a big role.

My point here is:
It's okay to change.
As long it's a good change.
Just don't lose yourself along the way.
You learn from the past and from those who have hurt you.

Hurt changes people they say.
Well, it depends on how you channel that hurt to become a good change :)

In life, people should change.
We're meant to evolve.

So if things don't seem to be going the way you want it to be,
if you realised that you're unhappy.
Then,
It's time to bring about change :)

Have you changed?

My dreams!

Hi guys,
how ya'll doin'?? :)

So I've been thinking about something lately,
and I thought maybe I'd share it with you guys..
It's something I feel very passionate about right now
But I ain't got no idea how I'm gonna make it.
haha

so here goes.

Among so many of my dreams,
Being a dentist for one..
And wanting to own a Charlie Tango,
& someday own a nice fancy car(s)..
And a nice yacht..
and opening Canine Harem..
Above all that luxuries,
I've always wanted a foundation of my own.
Like,
a Non-profit foundation.
Fighting for certain causes and raising awareness stuff like that..

So you're probably thinking,
what cause? Awareness for?

I know you think I wanted to open up my own version of SPCA,
or doing recycling campaigns,
or going on riots against Lynas and stuff..
but no.

I want the public to be aware about
Dental Health and Oral Hygiene.

Everyone's s busy raising awareness fot the environment and it's habitat,
which truly inspired me.

But these people are so busy putting their time into the environment and stuff,
but have we forgotten that we're part of the habitat too?
:)

I can't stress any more on how much dental health and oral hygiene effects our life.

The mouth is like the MAJOR gateway into our body,
and if we don't keep it healthy and what not,
it's going to cause diseases.

Bad oral hygiene,
doesn't just give you caries and bad breath (ew!)..
it may also cause periodontal disease, lung diseases, cardiac problems, pregnancy complications,
Cancer etc etc etc...
But despite all this,
no one seem to pay attention to it.

It really bugs me, coz personally I'm very particular about dental hygiene.
I have a sick obsession on having to brush my teeth 3x a day,
and I can't take it when people have food stuck in their teeth.
I guess you can say,
my future boyfriend/husband should have good dentition and oral health.
hahaha.

Okay, back to my dream foundation.
So yeah,
my foundation would be fighting for the stated cause.
&
I have an idea of  (hopefully) someday gather a group of volunteers and dentists,
to give free or at least minimal treatment to the people in ulu places..
or have demo on correct brushing techniques, give free toothbrush and toothpaste hehe
It isn't much, but I guess we can always start there?
I don't know, haven't quite figured it out.

haha anyways...

Guys,
I don't know how I'm gonna make this happen.
I'm not doing this for my own profit, to be famous or something,
but because I really feel like.. I want to haha
& hopefully with Buddha's grace and blessings and what not,
it happens sometime in future hee.

but for now,
please do me a favour..
PLEASE take care of your oral hygiene.
Please brush your teeth at least twice a day (preferably after each meal).
And do use mouth wash (Listerine).
FLOSS FLOSS FLOSS.
Omg, I thank my dad for teaching me this since I was a kid.
FLOSSING is SO important.
Don't be lazy!
Do visit your dentist for regular check-ups,
or at least get some scaling done every 6 months.
(im hinting you to start making appointments with me HAHA)

because if you don't do so,
you'll start getting caries and all this shitty mouth diseases.
and if your caries get so bad,
you're gonna need to do a RCT (root canal treatment) which would cost you more than RM2000.
I don't know how much it's gonna cost you in future.
and don't say "Nvm lah, Sam will give discount!"
Guys,
it's not that I don't want to,
but you need to see an Endodontist to get a RCT done.
And unless I speacialise into Endodontics..
I ain't gonna be doing RCTs.
haha

Anyhoo,
it's still a long way before I graduate haha
but,
just saying.

On a reaaaaal bright note,
someone called me DR today!
:'D

Chaos!

OPINIONS PLEASE

Friday, September 7, 2012

Oh not this feeling.

wow.
Has it been almost a month already?
I can't freaking believe it.

I've never actually felt so reluctant to go back.
I wonder why?

WHERE DID ALL THE TIME GO??

*smacks head on keyboard*
D:

Sunday, September 2, 2012

Kites.

Time is passing a lil too slowly tonight.
And,
I just checked-in online for my flight back to the Land of Spices this coming Saturday.

Which is actually kinda... Depressing.
Hahah

No.
Not depressing...
More like,
a mixture of feelings.

I don't usually feel much upon goin' back to India each time.
but for some dumb reason,
I feel kinda sad to go back this time.
And at the same time,
I'm kinda excited.

Sad because,
I honestly don't know when will be the next time I be back.
Possibly in May because 2nd year is the BUSIEST year for dental students.
And I really cannot afford to miss too much....

And also because,
I'm goin to miss this golden opportunity that I'm currently having to LAZE and do NOTHING.
It's not everyday you get a month off from books and do absolutely nothing.
hahaha

Sad because,
when I get back... it's the same thing again.
I have to waste brain juice everyday,
thinking what where and when to eat.

However though,
I'm really lookin' forward to the new academic year :D
It still feels kinda surreal because,
I feel like it was just yesterday I was the first year junior.
Youngest in the college.
And now,
I'm a second year SENIOR.
wow

Also 2nd year subjects are not as dry as first year's.
We're finally starting on pre-clinical work.
Which means more time in the lab,
and i've always loved lab work :D
coz I guess I'm good with my hands (pun intended ;) )
I'm really excited to start on Ortho (simpler terms, braces stuff)..
But then we also have killer subjects,
eg: Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology...
 But then you never know,
I might just like Pharm and not Ortho
TOUCHWOOD.
I MUST LIKE ORTHO, coz I wanna be an orthodontist.
heeeee!

But then again,
there are 9 branches in dentistry.
I don't wanna limit my choices just yet :)

I'm really hoping that 2nd Year will be an even better year for me :)
I just want everything to go well,
don't offend any lecturers and..
Just have fun as usual.
Oh, and also..
try not to get myself into relationship problems.
(I told myself this before arriving in India, but look what happened)
I think I've wasted my entire 1st year on it.
But then,
my life never fails to surprise me.

I thought of making a summary for First Year,
so here goes!

In first year,
I had dengue fever.
HAHAHHAHAAHHAHAAHAH
ok lah, dengue that time not funny lah.

My favourite subject:
Anatomy + Oral Histology

Does not like:
Biochemistry

It was a weird year, but overall, it was okay :)

Still Hungry.

For some odd reason,
my roommate thinks that the cat looks like me.
Well,
I never knew I was THAAAAAAT adowable :3

We (as in Joey, PRY, GSY and myself) had a good night out at La Risata.
Food was good.
(Obviously, for the price)
And the company was definitely the best!
<3 p="p">

Wanted to have a seat empty for Carven...
But I think it would be a bad idea coz now Chinese Ghost Festival.....
hehehe
Sorry lah carven.
Saya takut.
But it's so weird to go around without Carven :(
it's like a part of the fun is missing.
:'(

I guess it was fun to catch up and talk about good ol' times in Form 5.
We had loads of fun huh haha

"Eh the Sivik teacher. wat's her name ah?''
J: ''Start with A one....''
*Everyone tries to find a name starting with A*
*PRY points to the AC*
"The the the penghawa dingin ah.. hawa one!!"
PUAN HAWA!!!

HAHAHAHHAAHHAHA LAUGH DIE ME AHHH.

And we also solved a mystery ;)
ahem ahem

Ahhhh...
But it made me realise that nothing lasts forever.
So you gotta appreciate what you have while is lasts.

It's funny how from being in the same class and seeing each other everyday,
became to..
seeing each other through skype and facebook.
It's really kinda weird.
hahah

And we've all gone our own ways..
choosing our own path towards our dreams :)
Making new memories with new people.

And I can't believe that,
it was just yesterday (not literally) I went to India.
And now,
IM DONE AND PASSED FIRST YEAR.
